This exciting event invites
grandmothers and granddaughters to explore pioneer life in the Midwest
through the eyes of a young girl in the 1870s and 1880s. Laura Ingalls
Wilder wrote the Little House books to preserve and pass on the stories
of her family — and we’ll do the same with this event! We’ll read some
of the stories and do some activities from the pioneer days including
craft activities, games, making butter and baking bread — and more!
We’ll also engage grandmothers and granddaughters in sharing and
recording stories from their own lives.
This event will bring the
best of camp in 2009 — swimming, campfires, games, nature and craft
activities, discussion, and sharing — together with a nostalgic look at
growing up in Wisconsin in the pioneer days. |
