Extreme Camp Makeover
Workcamp weekends at Pilgrim Center

Chapel Landscape Edition
Over the last year there has been a lot of “extreme makeover” work taking place at Pilgrim Center. In the fall of 2008 we built four new cabins with the energy and expertise of more than 55 volunteers. Beginning in January of 2009 we’re replacing the 1950s era cinderblock chapel with a beautiful new winterized building which captures a beautiful view over Green Lake. Over the course of this work weekend we’ll tackle the last piece of these projects — landscaping around the chapel and planting trees around the new cabins. This is a perfect weekend for anyone who wants to help — there will be work for the strongest volunteer as well as the person who prefers the lighter work of planting plants. Experienced or new at landscaping and garden work, come join the excitement of finishing these new facilities!

Cabin Blitz Build
In the fall of 2008 more than 55 people descended on the Pilgrim Center site to build four new cabins where four old cabins had been demolished the week before. In less than 10 days the shell of four cabins, complete with windows, doors, and roof, were tucked into the beauty of the woods at camp. This spring — over these two weekends and any of the days in-between — we’ll be completing these cabins before the summer camp season. Some people will be insulating and finishing the interior walls, and another crew will be staining and installing siding. We’ll need skilled people — and plenty of others who are willing to help wherever they can. Come build for the first weekend — or the second — or part of one weekend — or the whole week in-between! The schedule is flexible to fit into your calendar!
